John Kirton (4 March 1916 – 12 March 1996) was a Scottish footballer who played in the Football League for Bradford City and Stoke City. He made 219 league appearances for Stoke.

Career

Kirton joined Stoke in 1936 from Scottish junior club Banks O' Dee. He became a key player in Bob McGrory's side and went on to spend sixteen years at the Victoria Ground playing for Stoke during the war. He left in 1953 to join Bradford. Kirton died in 1996 aged 80.[1]
